Independence Golf Club, the public course at 600 Founders Bridge Blvd., books live music almost every Thursday this fall. Between October 1 and December 17 there are 12 Thursdays, and the club has a performer on 11 of them. The only open date is November 26, which is Thanksgiving. The outdoor series, Rockin' at Indy, has its season finale on October 29. Seven days later, the music starts again inside Tavern 19 with no cover.
Taken together, the lawn series and the tavern series give a Founders Bridge household one Thursday routine from October through mid-December. The only things that change in November are the room and how you get a table.
Every Thursday From October Into December
The club advertises nine nights of lawn music across September and October. This is the full lineup from the start of October on, taken from the club's events calendar and its Rockin' at Indy page.

The first two October dates have already passed as of October 11. Three lawn nights remain, and only one of them has a ticket price.
Three Lawn Nights Left, and the Rules That Come With Them
The outdoor shows are set up under the pavilion between the 10th tee and the 18th hole, and guests sit on the open lawn. Each one runs from 6 to 9 PM. The club says Rockin' at Indy runs on Thursdays in May, June, September and October, so October 29 is the last lawn concert until next spring.
Suggesting Rhythm on October 15 is billed for Deadheads and is the only remaining show with a cover, at $15. Tickets can be bought at the gate, and children under 10 get in free with a ticketed adult. Big Boss Man follows on October 22, described by the club as "a little funk. A little soul." Slate River Band closes the series on October 29 at no charge.
A few rules decide how the evening goes, and most of them are about what you can bring:
- No outside food, drinks or alcohol. Tavern 19 sells food and drinks à la carte around the venue, and you need to be 21 with ID to buy alcohol.
- No pets or coolers anywhere on the property.
- Chairs and blankets are welcome. The club suggests arriving early to claim a spot.
- Parking is free in the main lot, and overflow parking is on the grass to the left of the main entrance.
- The course and practice areas are for golfers only during concerts.
- Children must have adult supervision the whole time.
Weather matters more in late October than it did in June. If the forecast turns, the club cancels and reschedules, and it can make that call as late as the day of the show. Updates go out on social media and by email. A rescheduled finale could move outdoor music past October 29. Tavern 19's social channels are where any new date would appear first.
The One Sunday Afternoon in the Middle
Fall Fest on Sunday, October 25, breaks the Thursday pattern. It runs from 1 to 4 PM on The Lawn, and admission is free. The Wrest, the band that played the October 1 Thursday, is back for live music. Kids get a petting zoo and a bounce house, and Tavern 19 sells food and drinks. The club's listing says, "Come for an hour or stay for all three. Admission is complimentary, and everyone is welcome."
Fall Fest falls between Big Boss Man on Thursday the 22nd and the finale on Thursday the 29th. That makes October 22 through 29 the busiest week on the lawn all fall, with three events in eight days. For a family with young children, the Sunday afternoon slot is the easiest of the three to fit around school nights.
What Changes When the Music Moves Indoors
Starting November 5, the setting moves from an open lawn to a restaurant dining room, and that brings new logistics. Willie Williams opens what the club calls Tavern 19's indoor live music series, playing 6 to 9 PM with "dinner, drinks, and no-cover live music." Bobby Baine plays November 12 and covers rock, country, pop and alternative. Pat O'Brien, described as a "Richmond favorite," plays a set of covers on November 19.
On the lawn, seating was whatever spot you found. Indoors, a table is something you can reserve, and the restaurant's booking rules shape the night. Tavern 19 is open to the public every day from 11 AM to 9 PM. It takes reservations for parties of up to 10 at 804.601.8611 but doesn't accept same-night requests after 4 PM. The music listings don't include separate reservation instructions, so the restaurant's general policy is the one that applies. If your group wants a table for a Thursday set, call before 4 PM that day or earlier in the week. The tavern also has patio dining.
Because the shows now come with dinner, the menu matters more than it did on the lawn. Tavern 19's current menu has pub-style appetizers, salads, pizza, burgers and sandwiches. The entrées include fish and chips, smoked chicken and brisket, and rockfish.
December Brings Repeat Performers and a Brunch
The December lineup brings back two November performers before adding a new one. Willie Williams returns on December 3, playing Americana, country and Southern rock. Pat O'Brien returns on December 10. Jared Stout plays December 17 with what the club describes as Appalachian rhythm, bluesy grit and an alt-country sound. All three nights start at 6 PM. The Stout show is listed as no cover, while the December 3 and December 10 listings don't mention admission.
Santa Brunch falls on Sunday, December 13, between the last two Thursday shows. The 2026 listing promises an "expansive holiday buffet" but doesn't yet give a time, price or booking method. For reference only, last year's event ran on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 10 AM to 2 PM. It cost $55 per adult and $20 for children 12 and under, and it included a children's buffet, action stations, holiday cocktails, crafts and a visit with Santa. Those 2025 figures may not carry over. Check the club's events calendar for this year's details as December gets closer.
The Course Under the Stage
All of this happens on a golf course that's open to the public. Independence calls itself a "premier public golf course," and its Championship Course has 18 holes. According to Virginia Tourism, Tom Fazio designed the original course and Lester George redesigned it in 2014. The same listing describes a separate nine-hole short course. The championship layout first opened in October 2001, which puts its 25th anniversary this month.
The club's current rates page lists 18 holes at $145 for tee times from 8 AM to 1:50 PM and $79 for tee times at 4 PM or later. That page doesn't say whether the rates change for winter. Taken as listed, the late rate costs a little over half the midday rate, and a 4 PM tee time ends close to when a Thursday set begins.
When Rockin' at Indy returns in May, the music moves back outdoors. Until then, the next free outdoor date is Big Boss Man on October 22, and the first indoor date is Willie Williams at Tavern 19 on November 5.
